"Could Zoloft Have Been
the Catalyst Behind the Chris Benoit Family Murders?
Absolutely!! ! And this is why . . .
Christopher Benoit's doctor admitted in the initial interview with police
that he had written a prescription for him a day before the killings began. It
was never made clear whether it was a renewal of that prescription or a new
medication altogether for Chris. Either way the presence of that
antidepressant has been completely ignored by the press while they have focused
only on
steroids.
Now, for those of you who have read my book you know that steroids are
extremely powerful and very deadly drugs. They can cause horrific adverse
effects
including Roid Rage. BUT they are not alone! This is exactly why I included
so much info on steroids in my book. Antidepressants have such a strong
steroid effect that Lilly's own research (done in Italy of course so that it
would
not be mandatory to report it in the US where their largest market is-for
reference see my book) demonstrates that one single 30mg dose of Prozac has been
shown to DOUBLE the cortisol level!!
Do your own research. Call and endocrinologist and ask what effect it would
have on a patient to have their cortisol level doubled on a daily basis. But
you had better warn him to sit down before you ask him so he does not hurt
himself as he faints. The one I asked years ago could hardly catch his breath
as he almost screamed, "Oh my gosh! You can't do that to someone!"
I continued, "If you could, how long could a patient handle that strong
steroid effect?"
His answer? "Maybe a few months."
When he wanted to know why I was asking I shared with him that this was the
effect of the first SSRI on the market, Prozac. After which he proceeded to
tell me I must be wrong because Prozac is such a wonderful drug. At that point
I told him he did not need to believe me on this info. And I gave him the
Italian Eli Lilly study that confirmed what I had just shared.
Doctors were and obviously still are completely oblivious to this steroid
effect of antidepressants.
Add to that steroid effect the fact that Chris was given a mixture of Zoloft
and strong pain killer which combination causes Serotonin Syndrome.
Serotonin Syndrome is a toxic condition which produces bizarre mental effects
from
the brain toxicity and can produce death within a 24 hour period as we
witnessed in the death of Anna Nicole Smith's son Daniel last year. I am
constantly
alarmed by the common practice of combining SSRIs and pain killers - both of
which are serotonergic agents and capable of producing the deadly reaction of
Serotonin Syndrome.
Now on top of all that you have evidence of severe brain damage - assumed to
be from the many blows to the head that Chris took in his profession. (The
possibility of brain damage being induced by Zoloft or other antidepressants
should not be ruled out if he had taken them for some time as the oxygen
deprivation they cause when the high serotonin constricts the veins and the
lungs.) According to Texas neurologist, Dr. Jay Seastrunk anyone who has
suffered
brain damage of any kind should never be given an antidepressant due to the
antidepressants' ability to induce seizure activity. Remember that mania is a
continuous series of mild seizures as is the REM or dream state of sleep.
Therefore the patient with pre-existing brain damage is at a much higher risk of
both a manic psychosis or Bipolar or the REM Sleep Behavior Disorder where a
patient acts out the nightmares they are having.
Add all that together and it is clear that Zoloft could easily have been the
catalyst that pushed Christopher Benoit over the edge leading to yet another
tragic murder/suicide that we see so often with SSRIs

Last paragraph reads: "Benoit, 40, was found with a large dose of

Earlier, it was announced that Benoit's physician had given him a
prescription for Zoloft. When the autopsy report was released, it only mentioned
the
presence of steroids. Now this article says that antidepression medication was
found in his system.

Benoit tests show major brain damage

When friends of Chris Benoit said the late World Wrestling Entertainment
star must have lost his mind when murdering his family and then committing
suicide, they were on to something.
Medical-test results released Wednesday by the Sports Legacy Institute
revealed that Benoit had suffered major brain damage from his 22-year pro
wrestling career and that his heinous actions may have stemmed from it.
Dr. Julian Bailes, chairman of the department of neurosurgery at West
Virginia University and a founding member of the Sports Legacy Institute, said
during a Wednesday news conference that it was "shocking to see the extent" of
Benoit's brain injuries after studying tissue taken during an autopsy. Benoit
killed his wife, Nancy, and 7- year-old son, Daniel, in late June at their
Atlanta-area home before hanging himself.
"When I first talked to the doctors about this, what they told me is that
(the brain damage) had taken away his ability to make rational decisions and
control his emotions," said Michael Benoit, who allowed the Sports Legacy
Institute to examine his son. "Given the circumstances of what happened, you
could
only imagine what went on in the house that night."
Michael Benoit said he'd kept in regular contact with his son but didn't
understand the extent of his mental illness until reading a diary that Chris had
kept after the steroid- related death of close friend Eddie Guerrero in
2005.
"I would have thought it was written by someone extremely disturbed a t the
time," Michael Benoit said.
Chris Benoit had established himself as arguably pro wrestling's finest
technical performer, but the former WWE world champion clearly paid a physical
price. Michael Benoit said his son had confessed to having "numerous
concussions" but never showed any effects of those blows in the ring.
Bailes and colleague Dr. Richard Cantu said there's no evidence that steroid
use was a potential cause for Benoit's brain damage. Both doctors
acknowledged that there was no way to tell whether Benoit's actions were in some
way
influenced by the use of steroids.
Benoit, 40, was found with a large dose of muscle-enhancing testosterone in
